For those of you who don't know yet, Matt's baseball season in Bogota was cut short due to the league closing down for the year. Apparently, landslides and rain delays aren't good for games. Who knew? Due to this bad weather, we actually had a fun last 3 weeks in Colombia. We had that "real" honeymoon I told you about earlier, a 3 day trip to Matt's Tia Alba's house in Subachoque, a fun and very late (we partied until 4:30 a.m.) Christmas Eve celebration at Sonia's house, and more time with Tia Ligia and Abuelita. I can't believe it's all over!
Now, we're back in Atlanta where we've had time to meet up with some good friends and family. We've been here over a week and today is our first day of doing absolutely nothing. Good thing...it's been raining all day! So glad to be back and to see everyone here, but I miss our Colombian family so much! I'm also searching for a job like crazy. I've sent off so many resumes that I've lost count. Some people may think quitting my job and going to South America for 2 months is a pretty irresponsible thing to do. Really, having Matt supporting the idea definitely helped me make that decision. Do I wish I had a job lined up already? Yes, but I wouldn't trade any of the time he and I had together or with the family for a job. How many people get to take off and spend 2 months traveling and getting to know the people they love a little better? Everyone would love to do it, but most people rationalize reasons not to take the jump. Matt and I have had an amazing adventure at the start of our marriage, and there's only more to come!
